skf Angular contact thrust ball bearings
The SKF angular contact thrust ball bearings shown here were originally designed to support the rotary tables of drilling rigs but are also suitable for other applications where high load carrying capacity, high axial stiffness and low friction torque are important. In contrast to conventional thrust ball bearings, angular contact thrust ball bearings can accommodate radial loads in addition to axial loads and are able to operate at high speeds.
SKF Needle roller thrust bearings
SKF needle roller thrust bearings are fitted with a form-stable cage to reliably guide and retain a large number of needle rollers. The diameter deviations of the rollers within one assembly are within 2 µm, enabling these bearings to accommodate heavy axial loads and shock loads. These bearings provide a high degree of stiffness within a minimum axial space. In applications where the faces of adjacent machine components can serve as raceways, needle roller thrust bearings will take up no more space than a conventional thrust washer. They can accommodate axial loads acting in one direction only.
SKF supplies needle roller thrust bearings in two designs:
– needle roller and cage thrust assemblies, AXK series
– needle roller thrust bearings with a centring spigot, AXW series
For applications where adjacent components cannot serve as raceways, the assemblies can also be combined with washers of various designs.
SKF Tapered roller thrust bearings
Tapered roller thrust bearings enable axially very compact bearing arrangements to be produced which can carry very heavy axial loads, are insensitive to shock loads and are stiff. SKF produces single direction tapered roller thrust bearings and double direction tapered roller thrust bearings .The screw-down bearings constitute a special design of single direction tapered roller thrust bearing and have a full complement of rollers. They are used for rolling mill screw-down arrangements.
SKF tapered roller thrust bearings are produced with the logarithmic contact profile between raceways and rollers to guarantee optimum stress distribution in the bearing, thus enhancing bearing life.
SKF tapered roller thrust bearings with cage are of separable design so that the two washers and the roller and cage thrust assembly can be mounted separately and easily. The full complement screw-down bearings are held together by special retaining components and, to simplify handling, the washers have threaded holes for eye bolts.
